This was my first CD cover. I got the opportunity to design it while I was studying DTP at Matthew Boulton College in 2001.
The starting point for the cover was a computer manipulation by Luke Shingler from a photo by Debbie Purdy. I cut the original photo back into it to bring some form back to the image and used crops of the photo in different parts of the artwork as it was the only photo I had to work from. I also designed the Jazz House logo and banner.
This CD is the first from Birmingham Jazz House, a marketing
label intended to promote local jazz talent and it was procuced in
conjunction with OYO Records.
If you like Jazz I can't recommend this CD too highly.
